St. Patty's Day

    I always liked St Patrick's Day when I was younger, mainly because of all the games and activities we would do in elementary school. I'm barely Irish (such a white person thing I know), so the actual cultural aspect has never really applied to me, all I knew was that leprechauns were destroying the classroom while we were out for recess. As I got older, and we started doing less and less for the holiday, and now the only thing I have to look forward to is my mom making corn beef. Nevertheless, it's still something to look forward to, so I decided to try and write a St. Patty's limerick about how I feel about the holiday.

There once was a day that gave adults an excuse to drink

A whole celebration of the color green, not pink

Everyone wore "Kiss me I'm Irish" shirts everywhere they went

Even though they're Irish only to the sixth percent

All jokes aside, it's a good holiday, I think
